Don’t try to make life a mathematics problem with yourself in the center and everything coming out equal. When you’re good, bad things can still happen. And if you’re bad, you can still be lucky.
If you don’t feel that you are possibly on the edge of humiliating yourself, of losing control of the whole thing, then probably what you are doing isn’t very vital.
Love. Hope. Faith. Patience. Courage. Understanding. Peace. Passion. Healing. Strength. Beauty. Freedom.
Don’t forget the little things….
Don’t wait around for people to make up their minds.
Smile when you answer the phone, the person on the other end will be able to tell.
Take out a library book.
Sleep under the stars.
Surround yourself with people who make you want to be the best you can be.
Don’t be so serious all the time.
Look people in the eye when you talk to them.
Take time to spend by yourself.
Firm handshakes say a lot about a person.
Love yourself.
Remember that you are beautiful.
When someone asks you to go on a random trip, go, forget about your to do lists
Have a genuine conversation with an old person, they are really smart.
Be friends with your ex-boyfriends, even if you ‘aren’t supposed to’
Tell your big brother you love him, even if it seems ‘weird’
Call you parents, just to talk.
Try to do something each day that resembles something the person you look up to the most would do.
Volunteer your time to a cause you truly care about. It will help you as much as you can help it or them.
Send random letters in the mail to your friends and family.
Smile at a stranger.
Go to a guest lecture on a college campus, they can be really interesting.
Ride a horse, you will fall in love.
Lay in the sun.
Pick flowers and put them in a vase.
Wake up early and go for a walk, sunrises are so underrated.
Love people for the person they were before they pissed you off.
Remind yourself every person has something beautiful about them.
Go to a farm and look past the smell. Fall in love with the simplicity. And appreciate the complexity.
Dance, people will be jealous of your spontaneity. I’ve never seen one bad looking person on a dance floor.
For the little things make life beautiful. The simple things make us, and everyone as something to offer.
Don’t get caught up in the crazy spins of the world.
You are you. Enjoy it!
I don’t know if you’ve ever noticed this, but first impressions are often entirely wrong.
We sit silently and watch the world around us. This has taken a lifetime to learn. It seems only the old are able to sit next to one another and not say anything and still feel content. The young, brash and impatient, must always break the silence. It is a waste, for silence is pure. Silence is holy. It draws people together because only those who are comfortable with each other can sit without speaking. This is the great paradox.
